Post Somnum
A private dream journal for iPhone and iPad. Log your dreams night by night, revisit the same night in past years, and spot patterns, all on your device.
Need help or have feedback?
Email support@postsomnum.com. I read every message.
Where are my dreams stored?
Only on your iPhone or iPad. Post Somnum has no account and no server, and I can't see anything you write. Your journal is included in your device's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer) if you have them turned on.
How do I keep a copy or move to a new phone?
Restoring your new iPhone from a backup brings your journal with it. You can also save a copy at any time with Settings › Export Dreams (text or CSV), and read it back in with Settings › Import Dreams. Photos and voice notes aren't included in exports.
Can you recover lost dreams?
No. Because your journal never leaves your device, I don't have a copy. Keep backups turned on, or export now and then.
How does AI Dream Analysis work?
It's optional and off until you turn it on. You can use Apple's on-device model, which keeps everything on your device, or Claude or OpenAI with your own API key. With Claude or OpenAI, the dream you're chatting about is sent from your device straight to that company under your own account, and any usage charges are billed by them.
What does the app read from Apple Health?
If you turn it on, only your sleep (time asleep, in bed, awake, and sleep stages) to fill in each night's sleep. It never writes to Apple Health and never sends your sleep to an AI or anyone else. You can turn it off in Settings › Apple Health.
