Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Post Somnum, a dream journal made by Zachary Kashef ("I", "me"). By using the app, you agree to them. If you got Post Somnum from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Your Journal Is Yours
You own everything you write in Post Somnum. The app stores it on your iPhone; I don't have a copy and don't claim any rights to it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Keep Your Own Backups
Your journal exists only on your iPhone and in your iPhone's backups. I can't recover lost dreams. Keep iPhone backups turned on, or save a copy now and then with Settings › Export Dreams.
Not Professional Advice
Post Somnum is for personal reflection and enjoyment. Nothing in the app, including statistics, suggestions and AI replies, is medical, psychological, therapeutic or other professional advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you're struggling, please talk to a qualified professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
AI Dream Analysis
- AI Dream Analysis is optional and stays off until you turn it on.
- AI replies are generated automatically. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, and I don't review them. Use your own judgment; decisions you make based on them are your own.
- With Claude or OpenAI, you use your own API key under your own agreement with Anthropic or OpenAI. You're responsible for keeping your key safe, for any usage charges, and for following that company's terms. I'm not responsible for their services, availability, pricing or how they handle what you send them.
Purchases
If Post Somnum offers in-app purchases, they're processed by Apple under the App Store's terms, and Apple handles refunds.
The App Is Provided "As Is"
I work to keep Post Somnum reliable, but to the extent the law allows, it's provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. I can't promise it will always be free of errors or available, or that every feature will stay the same.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or under product liability law, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be published here and in the app with a new date. If a change is significant, the app will ask you to agree again.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, except where the consumer protection laws of the country you live in give you more protection.
